I am a specialist Speech and Language Therapist and Facial Therapist. I graduated from Newcastle University in 2005 with a 1st class degree honours (BSc Speech and Language Sciences). I worked in the NHS for 12 years, specialising in adults for ten years.
I was a Clinical Lead Therapist at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, working extensively with a range of communication and swallowing difficulties in adults, with a specialist interest in neurological conditions.
I was closely involved in the launch of the NHS Oxford Facial Palsy Service, acting as the Facial Therapist for the Region.
I have an additional interest in supporting people who have difficulty with their articulation (pronouncing words clearly), for example due to muscle weakness, injury or a lisp.
Since graduating with distinction from the University of Greenwich in 2013, I practiced for five years within the NHS, specialising in adults presenting with both acute and progressive neurological conditions.
During my postgraduate degree I developed an interest in working with adults with swallowing and communication difficulties. Since then I have worked at Northwick Park’s Regional Hyper Acute and Rehabilitation Unit, London (2013 – 2017), and the Oxfordshire Centre for Enablement (2017 -2018), where I led the speech therapy service for the continuing disability management service (CDMS).
I am a specialist and experienced Speech and Language Therapist working in the NHS and privately.
I work extensively with a range of communication and swallowing difficulties in adults, with a specialist interest in neurological conditions.
